Niseko is increasingly becoming a destination for professional cyclists and triathletes as well as recreational visitors who love the scenic traffic-less open roads the region offers from Spring through Autumn.
In 2016 MnK is sponsoring "Lets Cycle Niseko", the local movement promoting cycling in Niseko to the world through their new 'Beyond the Bicycle' campaign.
The first video of the campaign focuses on the transition from winter to spring and from ski slopes to the tarmac. You can see it below:
Let's Cycle have released their second video in their 3 part series that shows the training, terrain, scenery and commitment of the athletes training for the Boardman Classic. In 2016 the Boardman Niseko Classic race becomes a UCI Gran Fondo World Series event, providing competitors with the chance to qualify for the 2016 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships race in Perth, Australia. The UCI World Cycling Tour or “UWCT” is a series of cycling races held globally, these events are sanctioned by Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). There are fifteen qualifier events held all over the world.
The Niseko event is taking place on the 10th of July 2016.
You'll always see people running or cycling around our beautiful green town. Over the past few years, the IronMan competitions were held in Hokkaido, and the triathletes were seen training hard for their race! A few of the pros were even spotted running around The Orchards Niseko getting their form just right! Check it out below:
