EdVenture Bus Driver/Camp Mentor

As an EdVenture Camp team member you are a role model, friend, mentor and hero to campers aged 3-16 years old. As an EdVenture Bus Driver, you will be an integral part of the operations and EdVenture team, responsible for the safety and transportation of camp participants, guests and passengers. You will be a valuable source of information and point of contact between our guests and the resort hosts/operations team. At times, it will be expected that you will assist the program mentors and managers to load, unload, set up, and take down equipment at various venues.

EdVenture Niseko
EdVenture is an immersive, multi-activity camp experience based in in Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan. Designed to help families make the most of Hokkaido’s incredible green season, the week-long program connects children and young teenagers to new friends from around the world. Participants learn new skills and tackle new adventures with their family members in innovative ways. The camp takes full advantage of its location nestled between the iconic Mount Yōtei and Mount Annupuri.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing campers and guests with friendly, professional and personalised customer service
  • Simple maintenance on all vehicles including fuel checks, bus tyre changes, and oil and vehicle condition checks
  • Shuttling our guests to and from town following all of Japan’s driving and road laws
  • Checking, updating and organising our daily bus schedule in accordance with the camp schedule
  • Communicating with your team to ensure a smooth flow of operation
  • Providing a safe and comfortable journey for our guests in challenging driving conditions
  • A basic knowledge of our camp program and guest services to pass onto our campers and guests
  • Physical work!
  • Being a team player, working and living in a close environment with your team mates.

Selection Criteria

  • Hospitality/customer service experience is an advantage
  • Applicants must show a level of maturity while still being fun to work with
  • A desire to experience a green mountain lifestyle
  • Genki attitude, energetic and with a genuine work ethic
  • Must have or be eligible to obtain a Japanese Working Holiday Visa.
  • Must have or be able to obtain an International Driving Permit valid in Japan that covers driving a vehicle up to 29 seats and 4.9 tonne
  • Provide an up to date criminal record background check from country of residence
  • Applicants must be fluent in English. Japanese and other languages are an advantage
  • Experience driving large vehicles in challenging conditions
  • Available to work from 8 June – 14 August, 2020

Working Hours

Working days/hours will vary depending on business needs


¥6,000 for a half day and ¥12,000 for a full day
