Tomo is an existing restaurant situated in the award-winning Orchards Niseko resort. The Orchards consists of 38 houses, a clubhouse, and is managed by the MnK Niseko. The restaurant offers a modern Izakaya cuisine with a sharing concept and spirit to both the guests staying at The Orchards as well as the community at large. The menu and restaurant space are designed to bring people together around great food, drink, and service. The team at Tomo is passionate about creating the highest quality food and beverage experience whilst allowing customers to relax. Ingredients in both the food and beverage menu are created from locally sourced produce and curated to enhance the informal atmosphere of the bar and restaurant. We are looking for team members who care, pay attention to details, and are driven to excel in the food and drink industry. The Restaurant Manager will work closely with the Executive Chef and General Manager at MnK Niseko to deliver a high-quality menu, train and motivate the team, expand the customer network, and provide excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all bar operations, from flow of service to stock management and ordering
  • Assist with front of house operations
  • Daily cash out and managing POS systems
  • Assist the General Manager with reservations system and guest bookings
  • Regularly provide feedback to staff in a constructive and positive manner to instill a culture of continual improvement and development
  • Control operational costs and identify measures to cut down on waste
  • Be an active member in continual staff training by promoting excellence in Food, Beverage and Service flow practices

Selection Criteria

  • English is required and some Japanese language proficiency is preferred
  • Proven customer service experience
  • Extensive knowledge of the food and beverage industry with the ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff
  • Familiarity with restaurant management accounts keeping and POS software
  • Strong leadership, motivational and interpersonal skills
  • Financial management skills

Working Hours

Working days/hours will vary depending on business needs


Starting from ¥220,000 – ¥280,000 per month (commensurate on experience)
