We are looking for motivated individuals to be the face of our company. If you have excellent organisational and team work skills, we want to hear from you! Our Front Desk/Reception team will be responsible for welcoming guests, fielding enquiries and going the extra mile to ensure our guests have an unforgettable experience. In addition, it will be your responsibility to help our guests book their winter services and activities and provide them with any information they need. Candidates will often be the first point of contact for our guests before, during and after their stay. Our Front Desk/Guest Services team will assign tasks to our Resort Host team and be responsible for their day-to-day tasks and schedules. Our resorts become extremely busy during the winter season and it is our Front Desk/Guest Services team who hold down the fort and make sure that operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assign and delegate tasks to the Resort Host team
  • Provide support to the Site Manager
  • Maintain the daily flow of tasks & checklists
  • Build trusting relationships with our guests and owners
  • Process payment, answer calls, respond to emails and assist with all other in-house guest enquiries
  • Actively support the promotion and selling of MnK's suite of guest services
  • Solve problems and deal with guest complaints/issues as they arise
  • Drive guests when required (occasionally in difficult and challenging driving conditions)
  • Organise and perform accommodation checks before guests arrive and after they depart
  • Check guests in and out of their accommodation and explain how our properties and processes work etc
  • Be an expert on all things Niseko and MnK related and provide guests with local information and recommendations upon request
  • Clear snow when needed
  • Support other teams during busy times

Selection Criteria

  • Experience in a previous hospitality role preferred
  • Face to face customer service experience essential
  • Must be able to use your initiative and work well under pressure
  • Applicants must show a level of maturity while still being fun to work with
  • A willingness to go the extra mile to help out your team/our guests
  • Comfortable with physical work and up for a lot of snow clearing!
  • Must have or be eligible to obtain a Japanese Working Holiday Visa or already have the legal right to work in Japan
  • Must have a Japanese driver's license or be able to obtain an International Driving Permit valid in Japan
  • Applicants must be fluent in English or Japanese (English/Japanese/Mandarin bilingual language ability is highly advantageous)

Late November, 2021 until the end of March, 2022

Contract Length

Working Hours

Depends on customer demand and snow conditions but on average you are expected to work 40-50 hours a week during peak (Christmas/New Year and Chinese New Year) season and 20-30 hours per week in low season. Average of 40 hours per week.


¥1,100 - ¥1,400 per hour depending on experience and language ability. Applicants with experience of more than one year in the hospitality industry will be strongly considered.
