TOMO Chef de Partie

TOMO is looking for enthusiastic Chef de Partie roles to join our new restaurant team. Chef responsibilities include studying recipes, setting up menus, and preparing high-quality dishes. You should be able to delegate tasks to kitchen staff to ensure meals are prepared in a timely manner. This role should be familiar with sanitation regulations. Experience with advanced cooking techniques and non-traditional ingredients is an advantage. We are looking for a passionate, and like-minded person to be part of our team.

TOMO Restaurant is a cozy cafe and restaurant based around a sharing concept and spirit. The menu and restaurant space are designed to bring people together around great food, drink, and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing menus in collaboration with colleagues
  • Ensuring adequacy of supplies at the cooking stations
  • Preparing ingredients that should be frequently available (vegetables, spices etc
  • Follow the guidance of the executive or sous chef and have input in new ways of presentation or dishes
  • Optimizing the cooking process with attention to speed and quality
  • Enforce strict health and hygiene standards
  • Help to maintain a climate of smooth and friendly cooperation inside and outside the kitchen
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations
  • Remain guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
  • Help colleagues and ask for help when needed, jumping in if someone needs assistance (despite their role or section) while maintaining own section
Selection Criteria
  • Resume and references to show culinary training and previous restaurant experience
  • Extensive food and beverage knowledge
  • Strong organizational skills with a good attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Japanese restaurant regulations
  • A positive work ethic with an ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong communication skills with exceptional customer-service skills

Employment Period
Late November 2022 - 31st March 2023 (Some short term positions available from late November 2022) - 28th February 2023
Probationary Period

Working Hours
Average of 5 days a week, 8 hour per day, 40 Hours per week.
Remuneration
¥1,350 - ¥1,600 per hour depending on experience
