EdVenture is an immersive, multi-activity camp experience based in Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan. Designed to help families make the most of Hokkaido’s incredible green season, the week-long program connects children and young teenagers to new friends from around the world. Participants will learn new skills and tackle adventures with their family members in innovative ways. The camp takes full advantage of its location nestled between the iconic Mount Yōtei and Mount Annupuri.

As an EdVenture Summer Camp Media Creator and Camp Mentor, you embody the roles of a role model, friend, mentor, and hero to fellow staff, campers, and parents. Your dual role involves capturing the daily moments of campers and families through film and photography. You will work together with our marketing team in producing a weekly “end of the week” movie showcased at the campground every Thursday night, along with weekly edited photos for parents at the week's end. Additionally, your creative touch will extend to crafting an end-of-summer 2024 wrap-up promotional video for marketing purposes.

Key Qualities

  • Demonstrable experience working with children; previous teaching or camp counselling experience is essential
  • Previous experience in working with children in an outdoor education or educational-based setting
  • Hold a valid Japanese driver's license or be eligible to obtain an International Driving Permit
  • First aid training is advantageous
  • Experience in a media-related role
  • Passion for film and photography
  • Proven experience working with children and young individuals
  • Love for the outdoors and nature
  • Ability to lead or assist in various recreational activities
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Strong communication skills, working with diverse ages and skill levels from young children to adults and parents
  • Desire and ability to thrive in a cooperative, team-oriented atmosphere
  • Enthusiastic, patient, and reliable

Working Hours

Anticipate an average of up to 40 hours per week during the peak summer season

Remuneration

¥7,200 for a half-day and ¥14,400 for a full day
