EdVenture is an immersive camp experience in Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan. Designed to help families make the most of Hokkaido’s incredible green season. The week-long programs connect children and young people to new friends from around the world, learning new skills, with their family members in innovative ways. The camp takes full advantage of its location nestled between the iconic Mount Yotei and Mount Annupuri in Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan.

As an EdVenture Camp Mentor, you play the roles of a role model, friend, mentor, and hero to campers. Your primary responsibilities involve the overall supervision of your campers, ensuring their well-being, and fostering a safe and enjoyable summer camp experience. You will be actively engaged with your campers five days a week, including an overnight camp, ensuring their enjoyment and safety. Setting a positive example in areas such as cleanliness, punctuality, clean-up, rules, and sportsmanship is integral to your role.

Key Responsibilities

Key Qualities

  • Demonstrable experience working with children; previous teaching or camp counselling experience is essential
  • Previous experience in working with children in an outdoor education or educational-based setting 
  • Hold a valid Japanese driver's license or be eligible to obtain an International Driving Permit
  • First aid training is advantageous
  • Proven experience working with children and young individuals
  • Passion for the outdoors and nature
  • Ability to lead or assist in various recreational activities
  • Proactive attitude towards problem-solving
  • Effective communication and collaboration with a variety of ages and skill levels, from young children to teens
  • Desire and ability to thrive in a cooperative, team-oriented atmosphere
  • Enthusiastic, patient, and reliable
  • Interest in film and/or photography is an advantage 

Working Hours

Anticipate an average of up to 40 hours per week during the peak summer season

Remuneration

¥6,400 for a half-day and ¥12,800 for a full day
