Bus Driver

As a Bus Driver for MnK, you will be working at the Chalets at Country Resort, a collection of chalets located a short drive from the town of Hirafu. To help our guests feel at ease living out of town, we run a bus service to the center of Hirafu and the base of the ski resort. As a Bus Driver, your responsibilities will include shuttling our guests in and out of town in sometimes harsh and difficult winter driving conditions. You will need to help maintain the bus and provide excellent customer service for our guests. We are seeking hardworking drivers who go the extra mile for our guests, are organized, and are self-motivated so that operations run smoothly. You will be working as part of the Guest Services team, and teamwork within MnK is important to make the winter seasons run effectively, so we are looking for individuals who have awesome teamwork skills to join us here in Niseko.
Conversational English required. Bilingual ability in Japanese or Chinese is highly advantageous.

MnK is a distinctive and growing company specialising in resort accommodation management in the beautiful Niseko, Hokkaido. Our amazing locations in the ski resort of Niseko-Annupuri are the perfect place for holidays and outdoor activities. We provide property management and hospitality management to our 3 locations; Akazora, The Chalets at Country Resort and The Orchards Niseko.  We want to ensure all owners and guests have the most enjoyable and comfortable time with us, and we try to personalise our service to ensure all guests feel welcome and at ease while enjoying their winter escape. During the winter months, we are at our busiest and rely on hiring an incredible crew of winter staff to expand our team and help run our operations through these busy months.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing our guests with friendly, professional, and personalized customer service
  • Simple maintenance on all MnK vehicles, including fluid checks and top-ups when required, and maintaining the general vehicle condition
  • Shuttling our guests to and from town, following all of Japan’s driving and road laws
  • Checking, updating, and organizing our daily bus schedule 
  • Communicating with your team to ensure a smooth flow of operations
  • Providing a safe and comfortable journey for our guests in challenging driving conditions  
  • Physical work and a lot of snow clearing!
  • Being a team player, working and living in a close environment with your teammates
  • Providing guests with local information and recommendations  
  • Supporting the Front Desk/Resort Services team and site manager
  • Supporting other teams during busy times 
Selection Criteria
  • Comprehensive driving experience in medium to large vehicles (20+ seaters) in adverse weather conditions 
  • The ability to use your initiative and remain calm under pressure 
  • The desire to learn all the local information/activities and help recommend guest services
  • Comfortable with physical work and up for a lot of snow clearing!
  • Face-to-face customer service/tour guide, or hospitality experience is an advantage 
  • Awesome and friendly personality

Working Hours
30–40 hours per week, approximately 6–8 hours per day, 5 days per week, with 2 days off.
Remuneration
¥1,800 - ¥2,100 per hour, depending on experience and language ability.
