Educational Group & Camp Animator

Proficiency in English is required; additional language skills such as Japanese or other languages are a plus.
About the Role

As an Educational Group & Camp Animator, you will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging, safe, and memorable experiences for educational groups and children participating in our winter programs.

Your focus will be leading animation activities, evening programs, games, team-building initiatives, and educational experiences for visiting school groups and camp participants. You will help create an energetic and inclusive environment that encourages participation, learning, personal development, and fun.

During the season, you will also support children's winter camp activities, outdoor experiences such as snowshoe tours and igloo-building, guest events, and other MnK Experiences programs.

This role is ideal for enthusiastic, outgoing individuals who enjoy working with young people, facilitating activities, and creating unforgettable winter experiences in Niseko.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and facilitate animation programs, evening activities, and entertainment for educational groups, from 10-18 years old.
  • Plan and deliver engaging games, team-building activities, cultural experiences, and social events.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and welcoming atmosphere for all participants.
  • Supervise and mentor children aged 3–12 participating in EdVenture Winter Camp programs.
  • Adapt activities to suit different ages, abilities, group sizes, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and enjoyment of all participants at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, group leaders, parents, guardians, and guests.
  • Support outdoor activities including snowshoe tours, igloo building, and other seasonal experiences as required.
  • Assist with activity preparation, equipment setup, maintenance, storage, and venue preparation.
  • Support housekeeping and general upkeep to maintain clean, organised, and safe facilities.
  • Act as a positive ambassador for MnK Experiences and contribute to a strong team culture.
Selection Criteria
  • Experience working with children, youth groups, camps, education programs, recreation, tourism, hospitality, or guest activities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to confidently lead and engage groups of varying ages and backgrounds.
  • Energetic, creative, and enthusiastic personality.
  • Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors during winter conditions.
  • Must hold a valid Japanese driver's licence or be eligible to obtain an International Driving Permit.
  • First Aid and CPR certification preferred.

Probationary Period

Working Hours
Depending on customer demand and reservations, working hours can range anywhere from 8 to 40 hours per week, including weekends. You will have at least one full day off each week. (6-8 Hours per day, up to 6 days per week)
Remuneration
The position is based on qualifications and experience, with a starting rate of ¥1,600 per hour
