About the Role

As a member of the Front Desk/Reception team, your role is to support the Guest Services Manager and provide direction to our Resort Services team.

We are seeking hardworking staff who go the extra mile for our guests and owners, are organized and self-motivated, and ensure all daily tasks are completed so operations run smoothly. You will be working as part of the Guest Services team to ensure our guests and owners have an amazing holiday and that our properties are properly maintained.

Teamwork within MnK is important for running the winter seasons effectively, so we are looking for individuals with awesome teamwork skills to join us here in Niseko. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for guests and employees.
  • Complete daily reception duties and provide support to the Guest Services Manager
  • Kindly and promptly address guest inquiries, requests, and concerns; Provide information about hotel services, amenities, and local attractions
  • Maintain the daily flow of tasks & checklists
  • Assign and delegate tasks to the Resort Services team
  • Provide support to the Resort Services team when required
  • Build rapport and trusting relationships with our guests and owners
  • Payment processing, answering calls, responding to emails, and all other in-house guest inquiries
  • Actively support the promotion and selling of MnK guest services
  • Problem-solving and dealing with guest complaints and issues as they arise
  • Driving guests when required
  • Organizing and performing accommodation checks before guests arrive and after the guests depart
  • Checking guests in and out of their accommodation/explaining how our properties and processes work, etc.
  • Being an expert on all things Niseko and MNK-related and providing guests with local information and recommendations
  • Snow clearing
  • Light housekeeping
  • Supporting other teams during busy times
  • Other ad hoc tasks during quiet times 
Selection Criteria
  • Previous experience in a hospitality role preferred
  • Face-to-face customer service experience essential
  • Must be able to use your initiative and work well under pressure
  • A willingness to go the extra mile to help out your team/ our guests
  • Comfortable with physical work and snow clearing where required
  • Must have or be eligible to obtain a Japanese Working Holiday Visa, or already have the legal right to work in Japan
  • Must have a Japanese driver’s license or be able to obtain an International Driving Permit valid for Japan. 
  • Applicants must be fluent in English. Bilingual ability in Japanese or Mandarin is highly advantageous.  
  • A desire to experience a ski/snowboard powder season in a bustling mountain town

Employment Period
Mid-November, 2026 - Mid-March, 2027 (Some short-term positions available from Mid-November, 2026 - February, 2027
Probationary Period

Working Hours
It depends on customer demand and snow conditions, but on average, you can expect to work 36-40 hours a week. (8 hours per day, 5 days per week)
Remuneration
¥1,600 - ¥1,800 per hour, depending on experience and language ability.
