Front Desk & Reception

As a member of the Front Desk/Reception team, your role is to support the Resort Guest Services Manager and provide direction to our Resort Services team. We are seeking hard-working staff who can go the extra mile for our guests while being organized and self-motivated to make sure all daily tasks are completed so that operations run smoothly. You will be working as part of the Guest Relations team to make sure our guests have an amazing holiday and our properties are correctly maintained. Teamwork within MnK is important to make the winter seasons run effectively, and so we are looking for individuals who have awesome teamwork skills to join us here in Niseko.

Native English (Japanese/Chinese/English Bilingual highly advantageous)

MnK is a distinctive and growing company specialising in resort accommodation management in the beautiful Niseko, Hokkaido. Our amazing locations in the ski resort of Niseko-Annupuri are the perfect place for holidays and outdoor activities. We provide property management and hospitality management to our 3 locations; Akazora, The Chalets at Country Resort and The Orchards Niseko. We want to ensure all owners and guests have the most enjoyable and comfortable time with us and we try to personalise our service to ensure all guests feel welcome and at ease while enjoying their winter escape. During the winter months we are at our busiest and rely on hiring an amazing crew of winter staff to expand our team and help run our operations through these busy months.

Key Responsibilities

Assign and delegate tasks to the Resort Services team
Provide support for the Resort Manager
Maintain the daily flow of tasks & checklists
Build rapport and trusting relationships with our guests and owners
Payment processing, answering calls, responding to emails, and all other in-house guest inquiries
Actively support the promotion and selling of MnK guest services
Problem-solving and dealing with guest complaints and issues as they arise
Driving guests when required
Organizing and performing accommodation checks before guests arrive and after the guest departs
Checking guests in and out of their accommodation/explaining how our properties and processes work etc.
Being an expert on all things Niseko and MNK related and providing guests with local information and recommendations
Snow clearing
Supporting other teams during busy times

Selection Criteria

Experience in a previous hospitality role preferred
Face-to-face customer service experience essential
Must be able to use your initiative and work well under pressure
A willingness to go the extra mile to help out your team/ our guests
Comfortable with physical work and snow clearing where required
Must have or be eligible to obtain a Japanese Working Holiday Visa or already have the legal right to work in Japan
Must have a Japanese driver's license or be able to obtain an International Driving Permit valid for Japan.
Applicants must be fluent in English or Japanese. (English/Japanese/Mandarin bilingual language ability is highly advantageous)
A desire to experience a ski/snowboard powder season in a bustling mountain town

Employment Period

Mid November 2023 - March 31, 2024 (Some short term positions available from mid November 2023 - February 28, 2024)

Probationary Period

1 Month

Working Hours

It depends on customer demand and snow conditions but on average you are expected to work an average of 40 hours a week. (8 Hours per day, 5 days per week)

Remuneration

¥1,500 - ¥1,700 per hour depending on experience and language ability. Applicants with experience of more than one year in the hospitality industry will be held in high regard.
